What is Near high/low of the day?
This alert identifies price near the high or low of the day during the regular market session. The documented proximity condition is a distance of less than the current 20-period average true range, or ATR. Selecting High or Low chooses which daily extreme to watch. Unlike a new-high or new-low alert, it surfaces an approach to the reference and does not require price to break through it.

Near high/low of the day in practice
For illustration, suppose the day’s high is $50.00 and the current ATR used by the alert is $0.30. A distance of $0.20 from that high is inside the documented proximity condition. This is an example of the distance comparison, not a claim that the stock will proceed through $50.00.
