High of Day and Low of Day Stock Alerts
Find stocks making new highs or lows of the day during the regular session. ChartsWatcher alerts as the daily range expands in your selected direction.
Understand the trigger
What is High/Low of the day?
The High/Low of the Day alert reports a new daily high or daily low during the regular market session. Choose High to follow upward extensions of the day’s range or Low to follow downward extensions. It is an event-based way to monitor the current day’s extremes, rather than a longer historical high or low. ChartsWatcher provides a separate variant for coverage that includes extended-hours trading.
An illustrative example
High/Low of the day in practice
Suppose a hypothetical stock’s regular-session high stands at $36.80. A later move above that level creates a fresh high of the day and illustrates the High option. If you are tracking lows instead, a new daily low is the corresponding event; an ordinary pullback inside the range is not.
Make it part of your workflow
Catch the event. Keep the context.
Use ChartsWatcher to keep a live review queue of stocks extending their regular-session range. Inspect each new event with the chart and volume to see whether the stock is steadily extending or repeatedly revisiting nearby prices. Pairing this with a position-in-range filter can also help review symbols that remain near their extremes afterward.
ChartsWatcher brings your chosen alert types and filters into the same alert window. Add the data columns you want to see, then use the connected chart and news tools to explore a matching symbol.

A little more detail.
How do I add High/Low of the day in ChartsWatcher?
Open or create an alert window and choose High/Low of the day in its configuration. Select the available options that match your setup, then add filters to define which stocks can trigger it. Review matching alerts alongside a chart and the stock’s news.
What should I check before using this alert?
This version is documented for regular market hours. New daily extremes can occur repeatedly and say nothing by themselves about how far a move will continue.
From an idea to your own scan.
