What is Trade count?
Trade count totals the number of trades over the selected period. ChartsWatcher offers 1-minute, 2-minute, 5-minute, 15-minute, 60-minute and daily options. Each count measures transactions rather than shares, so it complements volume rather than replacing it. A period can contain many small trades or a few large ones with very different total share turnover.
An illustrative example
Trade count in practice
One stock could record 1,000 trades totaling 50,000 shares, while another records 100 trades totaling 200,000 shares. A trade-count condition above 500 includes the first, whereas a volume condition above 100,000 includes the second. The filters describe different forms of participation.

How do I add Trade count in ChartsWatcher?
Open or create a toplist and add Trade count to its filter configuration. Choose the available options and the bounds that fit your screen. Combine it with other metrics to narrow the results. Filters can also refine which stocks qualify for an alert.
What should I check when interpreting this filter?
A trade count does not measure unique traders or traded share quantity. Comparing stocks using only counts can miss large differences in average trade size.
