What is Crossing below?
Crossing Below identifies price moving from above to below one of the supported reference levels. Those references include the current VWAP, today’s opening price, yesterday’s closing price, and listed moving-average combinations. It is an event alert rather than a continuous ranking of how far below the reference a stock trades. ChartsWatcher calculates these crossings during regular and extended-hours sessions.

A hypothetical stock can be above yesterday’s close at one moment and then move beneath it. With the Close option selected, that transition is the relevant crossing. If price was already below yesterday’s close throughout the observed move, being below alone is different from a new cross beneath the reference.
